Restoration Projects
Peter Dann, as a long standing company, have developed a wide range of expertise with regard to historic buildings and structures. As such restoration and refurbishment has been a significant area of our activity for many years, particularly being based in the city of Cambridge, itself rich in college history.
We have a sympathetic approach toward sustainable and ecological design through the re-use of materials and retention of existing structure. We aim to provide structural solutions that interfere as little as possible with the character and substance of historic properties, whilst breathing new life into tired or weakened buildings. This forms a major part of our philosophy for listed structures.
We have successfully helped many of our clients with prestigious developments where, by their very nature, regenerating buildings of special interest has required a holistic approach to the design and detailing, also utilising innovative techniques for enhancing the strength of structures to carry new loadings for which they were not originally suitable.
Our range of commissions covers small individual structures such as historic dovecotes to major country houses and college buildings with clients ranging from individual property owners to the National Trust.
Now relatively modern buildings are also in need of restoration and structures such as concrete car parks also fall within our remit.
