Mayday Hospital, Thornton Heath
In order to enhance the service available to patrons of the hospital, a new stand-alone MRI facility was required.
Set within the hospital grounds the facility provides a self contained unit with all auxiliary areas necessary for MRI scanning services.
To enhance control of quality of finish and programme, a part prefabricated timber framed structure was provided.
Detailed consideration of large loads associated with the MRI unit and screen walls as well as lift out panels for replacement and maintenance of equipment was required.
All on site operations and programme were fully co-ordinated with the hospital toward limitation of disruption to normal hospital working practices.
