Bedford School
We have been the retained engineers of Bedford School for almost 20 years, reflecting our philosophy of developing long term partnerships with our clients to meet their requirements.
Bedford School is one of the oldest schools in the UK and was founded by The Harpur Trust in the fifteenth century; therefore they have a large mixture of buildings, the majority of which were built in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Our commitment is to respond to their daily needs for ongoing maintenance advice and occasional structural defects that develop in their boarding houses and educational buildings throughout the Bedford area.
Peter Dann have also provided the engineering design support for new developments that include numerous boarding houses, multi-purpose halls, science and technology blocks, changing rooms, a planetarium, theatre and games rooms.
To keep the school functioning, work is generally planned to take place over holiday periods and outside of exam time.
Refurbishment and structural alterations are required on a regular basis to their building stock. We aim to provide solutions which are sensitive to the preservation of the aesthetics and architecture.
