Peter Dann was appointed to provide structural services for the design of a new external passenger staircase at Tower Gateway as part of a regeneration strategy.
The project involved the demolition of the existing staircase, the design of foundations, staircase support structure, staircase, handrail, canopy lintels for opening in gabion wall, foundations to gabion wall and external works.
The staircase curves from ground level up to the platform. A canopy emerges from beneath the existing platform covering the upper third of the stair structure.
