J Sainsbury – Petrol Filling Stations
Peter Dann have designed the structure to new sales kiosks, kiosk extensions, car wash structures and associated structures to over 150 petrol filling station sites throughout the United Kingdom.
Each site is researched regarding ground conditions and existing structure. The new structure to kiosk extensions is designed to match and support the existing building and often carry the canopy. New kiosk designs are departing from the traditional masonry construction to concept kiosks with curved roofs and cladding panels.
Ease of construction is a major factor and the design team liaise with the contractor to ensure that any potential problems are overcome before starting on site. The client requires minimum disruption to trading periods and therefore the extension designs include some flexibility regarding support positions for the existing structure, due to short contract periods, on site problems are attended to immediately.
Sites are occasionally on or near to areas of fill and methane/radon protection systems are installed where necessary.
